Fact Sheets

CoviLamp™ (LAMP-PCR Assay)

CoviLamp™ (LAMP-PCR Assay) is a  reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) technology assay intended for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA in nasal swab specimens from individuals suspected of COVID-19 by their healthcare provider. With CoviLamp™, the viral RNA can be detected in as low as 30 minutes requiring less specialized equipment.

Target Genes

One target detection for E gene and one target detection for human control (RNase P)

Test Kit Formats

The kits are available for small scale with test tubes (microfuge) or large-scale (high-throughput plate readers for 96 well plates)

Assay Time

Fast test results less than 30 min .

Probes and Primers

Highly specific SARS-CoV-2 proprietary primers and probes

Instrument Requirements

Real-Time PCR System

Why to use CoviLamp™ (LAMP-PCR Assay)

LAMP differs from conventional PCR wherein LAMP reaction occurs under isothermal conditions, allowing the test to be performed with more versatile laboratory equipment.

How to use LAMP-PCR Assay

To perform the test RNA is isolated from clinical specimens. Extracted RNA is transferred from the extraction elution tube to a 96-well PCR plate for fluorometric detection.

Test Principle

CoviLamp™ (LAMP- PCR Assay), is a loop-mediated amplification PCR assay that detects SARS-CoV-2 RNA. Using a proprietary mix of reagents and process, CoviLamp™ (LAMP-PCR Assay) involves a timed incubation at 60ºC followed by read out of fluorescence.
